welcome to my blog! For those of you just visiting for the first time, welcome!   My name is julie weaver and I am a Southern California based photographer. I have been a professional photographer for the past 10 years and have specialized in weddings and portraits.

Having a family of my own, I understand the importance of capturing those little moments that seem to flash before our eyes....the quirky smiles, the scrunchy noses, the temper tantrums, the interaction that takes place between you and your child....and even those wonderful teenage years...it's priceless and gone before you know it!  I am THAT person who gets to capture those silly and precious moments that you love so much. That's why I absolutely LOVE my job!

Thanks for stopping by!

My favorite little friends, dylan and avery are ALMOST like my niece and nephew. Their mommy is one of my very best friends, Sri. Sri and I have been friends for over 25 years and even though she and I do not live all that close, we talk every single day, maybe even a few times! She is my biggest fan and cheerleader, so when she asks me to photograph these little cuties, I always jump at the chance! Here are a few of my favorites from our session.... this little man is drop dead gorgeous... and little avery...darling! Aren't they the cutest? dylan loves his dinosaurs and can belt out some great roars!

Many of my clients know that I upload all of my events on Pictage which allows my clients the ease of online viewing, ordering and viewing every step of their album design. I am now a Pictage Group leader and host monthly meetings to get other Pictage photographers together to network and learn. I just found out that I have been featured on their blog and I am so excited!!! Check it out here! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Since wedding season hasn't officially started for me yet, I have been having a blast photographing more portraits. This particular photo shoot was such an eye opening experience for me. I haven't done a lot of senior portraits in my career, but I have to tell you...it rocked my world and I LOVED it! After I was done with this shoot and spent some serious time editing, I pulled up all of my favorite images and couldn't believe that Jenna was not a little girl anymore! She is graduating from high school and going away to college...all on her own! Immediately, thoughts just started racing through my head. That is someone's little girl who's all grown up and moving on to a brand new chapter in her life. Her parents must be so overwhelmed with joy and so proud of her. But at the same time I bet those parents have a tiny little part of them that tears at their heart whenever they think about her leaving. Do you ever feel your heart get so heavy that you just want to burst out in tears? Well, that is how I felt after thinking about this!!! And not in a sad way...in a "proud mom moment" kind of way....I just documented a very important part of someone's life and It completely rocked my world! I don't think I would ever have had that insight if it wasn't for me having children of my own and witnessing how incredibly fast they grow up. Every single day I look at my kids and cherish the moment I'm in with them (yes, even the not-so-fun moment). Before I know it, they are going to be off to college and then getting married. Then it occurred to me that I feel that same exact way when I photograph a wedding. Another huge milestone in someone's life... and I am the one documenting it. I say this all the time, but I LOVE my job. Whether I am photographing a newborn, toddler, high school senior or a beautiful wedding, I am documenting that moment in time for a family. There is no better compliment than to hear someone tell you that they love their pictures! O.k...enough rambling! Here are some of my favorite images of Jenna. Wow, I'm a little teary eyed right now. That song, those images, and the fact that someones little girl is all grow up and leaving makes me think that soon that day will come for me. Great images Julie, she's going to have a hard time choosing...

My "Kid's Only" sessions are underway and I am having so much fun!  I chose to do my spring sessions in San Dimas because the setting is so pretty this time of year, and it just screams spring! J and S (sorry, I want to protect these sweet kiddo's as much as I can!) are longtime clients of mine.  I have been shooting them since they have been newborns and it has been so much fun watching them grow and being able to document that with my photography! Here are a few of my favorite images of the session: villa-37a_blog.jpg villa-23a_blog.jpg villa-19_blog.jpg villa-25_blog.jpg

Aron and I had such a blast in Vegas at WPPI. We were exhausted from absorbing so much information, but the networking and friends that we made along the way was absolutely priceless. I love this time of year when we get to go. It always brings new inspiration to carry throughout the year as I photograph amazing weddings and fun new children's shoots! I kinda blew it with taking pictures along the way....but only have a few to share! More next year! My darling husband, Aron! vegas_blog1.jpg My friends, Lauren Hillary and Sara France. By the way, their Super Swanky Soiree was sooo much fun! Thanks, girls! vegas_blog2.jpg One thing to remember in Vegas: don't get hypnotized! I thought it would be fun at the time, however, when I "woke up" I was exhausted and had to leave the BLU domain party because all I wanted to do was sleep! I guess I was flexing my muscles in this shot....yes, I am a little embarrassed!!! vegas_blog.jpg At [b]ecker's par-tay...always so much fun and fun to catch up! becker.jpg Can't wait until next year! Good times!
