As I thought about what I was going to blog about today, I immediately asked my husband to help me come up with something brilliant and fresh.  My son overheard our conversation and quickly said, "Mom, blog about Camarillo"...Aron and I looked at each other and just started laughing! See, my son Cole is only 8 years old.  In his mind, this is exciting and definitely blog-worthy!  He has been counting the days until our little trip with our soccer team.  What's better than jumping on hotel beds and swimming in a pool with all of your friends?  Eating out all weekend and having a free-spirit?  We are even pulling them out of school early to make the most of our get-a-way! This is a BIG deal to our children....they don't know that Camarillo is just another town with another soccer field to live at for 3 days straight (and might I mention, in the heat....) They know that it's a time when they will have mom and dad's undivided attention to support their love of soccer and to be with each other, having fun.  Although I'd rather be with them sipping cold margaritas  in Cabo or even better, sipping red wine in Italy (A girl can dream)... well, it just doesn't matter to them!  What matters to them is just plain old "hanging out"....and that's what I will be doing this weekend with them! Tomorrow our family will be heading out to Camarillo to watch our daughter, Katie, perform in her Select soccer tournament.  This soccer team has become an extention of our family, and we feel so blessed to have such an amazing group of girls and their parents. So, take a look at your beautiful family tonight and be reminded of the "little" things that mean so much! Go Claremont United!!! 0g9k9791 0g9k9766

I had the pleasure of photographing part one of Jacob's high school senior pictures last week!  Jacob is quite the student and athlete.  So much that we have to break our session into 2 separate parts.  See, Jacob plays football and basketball for his school as well as being president of Webb's Surf Club!  How cool is that?  Jacob also volunteers his time is a couple different organizations and is quite an impressive young man!  I also had the pleasure of meeting his mother and sister and had so much fun getting to know them all!  I look forward to our surf session in Malibu! Now, THAT will be an awesome shoot! Until then, here are a few really great shots of Jacob which I believe really begin to describe the great kid he really is! 0g9k0862 0g9k0858 0g9k0682 0g9k0789 0g9k0806 0g9k0824 0g9k0833

Everytime I think about how great our Get tha Funk Out workshop is going to be, it literally puts a great big smile on my face and am humbled by the fact that we are almost completely booked for this event.  We have such an amazing group attending! Anyway, Last week the National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP) contacted us.  They had heard some really great buzz about our upcoming workshop and wanted to add us to their list of upcoming workshops.  OMG...really?  Heck yeah!!!!  When we got this list and saw our names on it…we were smitten,  to say the least!  I think if we had  all been together at that moment we heard the news, would've held hands and jumped up and down like school girls!  We are so honored to be added to this highly coveted list of professional photographers  such as   Barb Uil, Lena Hyde, Brianna Graham, Audrey Woolard, JB Sallee, and Amy Wenzel .      For those of you non-photographers….these names are HUGE!    These are like the biggest names in children’s photography and we are on a list WITH them!  WE have arrived!!! So as I continue my day with a BIG huge smile on my face, I want you to remember that dreams really do come true.  Work hard and be motivated! napcplist.png

It was so much fun to meet up with Jose and Lorraine this past wekend in the Bunker Hill area of Los Angeles.  We walked around, finding some pretty interesting spots.  The best part of hte shoot for me was seeing how insanely happy these two are.  Everytime Lorraine flashed her BEAUTIFUL smile, Jose just lit up! Enjoy! Can't wait to see you at your wedding! 0g9k93871 0g9k9426 0g9k94431 0g9k9481-edit 0g9k9584 0g9k96131 0g9k9727 0g9k9639
